Extend Product Page Gallery to Support Videos & GIFs

Feature Request

Background
Our current product detail page gallery only displays images. These are synced from Shopify, where product images are stored.

Problem
When a video is uploaded to a product in Shopify, it does not play on our product page. At the moment, the gallery only supports static images, which limits the way we can present products.

Suggestion
Enhance the product page gallery so that it can display not only images but also GIFs and videos. All media should continue to be pulled directly from Shopify and shown in the same carousel.

This is such an essential feature, Shopify supports this on all their native themes.

Needed asap! Just realized today all our product pages were not displaying our videos.

Yeah actually surprises me as well that this has never gotten the priority it obviously deserves. Such a key feature.

While we’re at it (now that it has been picked up): how about also supporting 3D/AR models (which Shopify also natively supports) @Doeke Leeuwis? For me personally that would be incredibly useful as well! :)

I added it as a seperate request here. But it would be awesome if it could be merged with this one! :)
