Expanded Conditional Logic

Could we expand the conditional logic functionality to include more flexibility? Specifically, it would be great to support additional logic options such as "AND" / "OR" conditions, with parameters for product type, category, tags, inventory level,

    Resolved with Instant 2.0!

The agent can now use any custom liquid condition you can think of, based on any product/collection value and metafields, nest multiple and/or conditions, and a lot more.

If you can describe it, you can build it.

This would allow my clients who want to show 4 flavor skus on one product page instead of coding three buttons to update the select product.

    Improve condition feature

Allow selecting dynamic like image metafield, to hide/unhide element using condition rule.

Expanded conditional logic would save me templates and expand soooo much of Instant.

The current conditional logic is too limited. It exposes a few metafields, but not core objects like Product Category etc. There is no way to chain rules. Because of that I’m carrying about 10 PDP templates. With richer conditionals I could cut that by 80%.

    What I need

    1. Real boolean logic
AND, OR, NOT. Grouping with parentheses. An “else” fallback. A clear rule order.

    2. More data to target

    • Product: category, type, vendor, tags, options, price, compare_at_price, inventory, availability, variants

    • Collections: in collection, not in collection

    • Metafields: product, variant, collection, and shop scope. All available, not a subset

    • URL and context: path contains, query param, UTM, locale, device

    Everyday use cases

    • Breadcrumbs on PDPs
Shopify has no true hierarchy, so many of us set a primary collection with a metafield. I want:

      • If product.metafields.primary_collection exists → build breadcrumbs from that

      • Else if product is in Tops → show “Women > Tops”

      • Else fall back to product.category

    • Section gating by taxonomy

      • If product.category = Clothing > Tops → show Size Guide A

      • If product is in Sale → show Sale badge section

      • If tag contains preorder → show Preorder notice

      • If inventory < 5 → show Low stock bar

This removes duplicate templates, keeps PDPs consistent, and unlocks common patterns without hacks. If you expose Category fields, and add AND/OR/NOT with Else, that alone would be a big win.
