Automatic Variant Selection When Switching Product Versions/Variants

Context:

We have two similar products — one type is Transparent and one type is Peak Perform.

Each type has size variants (Klein (S), Middel (M), etc.) and two versions: 1.0 and 2.0.

Current behavior:

When a user switches between versions (for example, from Transparent 2.0 – Klein (S) to Transparent 1.0), the user must manually select a size again (because the 1.0 has no Klein(S) only a ‘Middel (M), even if there is only one available size selector in that version.

Requested behavior:

When switching product versions, if the selected version only has one variant available (e.g., only Middel (M)) in the instant builder, that variant should be automatically selected in the frontend.

Benefit:

This improves user experience and reduces friction in the buying flow, especially for customers switching between versions of the same product type.

We know it is a very specific request, but for us very needed.
